China is developing the Golden pear originated from South Koear

Golden pear is a new mid-late mature pear variety cross-bred from Singo Pear and Century Pears. Golden is transmit to China in 1996. it has excellent quality, and is loved by consumers. 

The golden pear is nearly round-shape, and well-formed. The fruit is large in size, the average fruit weight is 350 ~ 400 grams, and the maximum fruit weight is more than 500 grams. The skin of the pear is yellow-green, and becomes transparent golden yellow after storage; the bagged pear has yellow-white with the skin, small and uniform fruit points, and has an extremely beautiful appearance. The fruit is milky white, the fruit core is particularly small, and there are few stone cells. The edible rate is over 95%. The pear flesh is crisp and tender, and the pear juice is sweet. The bagged pear contains 12% ~ 15% of soluble matter, and the unbagged pear is 14% ~ 16%. In recent years, it has been very popular in the Southeast Asian market with a very high price. It is currently the highest-priced and most popular pear variety in China and abroad. The pear is easy for storage and transportation, can be stored for 30 days at normal temperature, and can be stored for 5 to 7 months under cold storage at 0 ~ 5 ℃, but the storage period must be covered with fresh paper to prevent water loss and wrinkling. The mature period of golden pear in Shandong is mid-September, and the growing period is about 145 days.

Golden pear has strong at growth, its branch position is relatively open, its germination rate and branching ability are medium.  The results are early and the yield is good. Most of the leaf buds of the annual branches can be transformed into flower buds.  Pears are generally harvested in the second year of planting. In the third year, 667 square meters (1 acre) yielded 600-700 kg, in the fourth year, 1,000-1200 kg, and in the fifth year, it reached 2000 kg.

Golden pear as strong adaptability, and can grow and produce normally in mountainous, hilly and plain cultivation. It has strong resistance to black spot disease and black spot disease, and weak resistance to pear rot. The requirements for fertilizer and water are high, and it is not suitable to develop and plant in sticky and barren land. After extensive trials in various places, it is recognized as a better new variety of sand pear at present, and it has very prospective development.
